Pritikin

Pritikin Longevity Center

The Pritikin Program includes 3 key pillars: eat right, exercise regularly, and embark on a healthy mind-set. Each of the pillars have been vetted since Nathan Pritikin pioneered this approach in his first book published in 1974, and the opening of the first and now continually running Pritikin Longevity Center in 1975.

To accomplish the “exercise regularly” pillar, one needs to be biomechanically sound … or at least understand what one’s true potential or limitations may or may not be and how to work within and beyond. To accomplish this, Pritikin looks to expert Frank Musumeci.

Frank has been a consultant and lecturer with Pritikin since 2004. Today, as Biomechanical Director and Lecturer at Pritikin, a Licensed Physical Therapist, Senior Strength Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer, Frank plays a key role in helping guests at the Pritikin Longevity Center in this area in the classroom and also during one-on-one consults.

We extended Frank’s lecture via video, for our Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehab Program. This program is licensed to hospitals nationwide. Frank’s Biomechanical Limitations video is a part of the core video curriculum. It serves as a “launching point” for hospital Exercise Physiologists and other care-givers to educate and assist patients to exercise to their fullest potential possible. Frank’s professionalism, welcoming and warm personality and clarity of delivery make this a key component to helping these patients get back on the road to recovery.
